Kenneth J. Benson, a former United States Magistrate Judge, serves as a principal neutral at JUSTUS ADR SERVICES. With extensive experience in mediation, arbitration, and early neutral evaluation, Judge Benson has successfully resolved hundreds of cases across a wide range of legal domains.
As a United States Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania from 1990 to 2002, including serving as the Chief Magistrate Judge from 1997 to 2001, Judge Benson gained a reputation as an effective "settlement judge." He brings this wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at JUSTUS ADR SERVICES, where he helps parties find fair, efficient, and mutually agreeable solutions to their legal disputes.
Judge Benson's experience extends beyond the bench, having served as a Senior Deputy Attorney General for the Office of Attorney General of Pennsylvania, an Assistant District Attorney for the District Attorney of Allegheny County, and a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Henry O'Brien of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He has also been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Duquesne University School of Law since 1985.
